Walkway anniversary celebration

Well, it's just about here. I know it's raining right now. But, Saturday is looking like a beautiful day and just right for the first anniversary of the Walkway Over the Hudson opening celebration. I've been volunteering for the organization for some time now and am getting ready for a full day on Saturday. I invite you all to come and have some fun. You can view a poster for the event here here.

Or go to the Walkway web site to check the entire bridge out.

And then on Sunday, I'm going to be joing joining Fred Schaeffer for the first bike ride across the bridge and then onto the newly opened Hudson Valley Rail Trail extending from the Walkway and into the town of LLoyd. This is the newest portion of the rail trail system to open, which opens on Saturday and will begin extending the trail system to the west from the bridge. In the future, a simular connection is planned for the east shore. Ultimately the trail system will extend to the east and the west for miles and miles.

So, if you can this will be a good weekend to be in the Hudson Valley.
