The Swingle Singers

I know i'm just sort of an old fart at times, but I still like to hear the artform of the human voice without the loud background music drowing it out.
Enjoy.

(Tommy...this has been sitting in "waiting mode," since the day that you posted yours! I got distracted from looking for some part of this post.)

What a TRIP, Tommy! I was just listening to various versions of this song, on Youtube!! It was assigned to me, this week, in my singing lesson!!!!!

This is a BEAUTIFUL rendition of it! I really believe that it is an old 'Negro Spiritual,' myself; something sung by the slaves as they toiled, together, in chain "gangs." I'm having trouble finding anything that sounds quite like that, though.

And...I have a recording of the instrumental but...it's more fun to sing along w/others; hence, I was hoping to find a version that has the exact same words.

This woman (the one that you saw on my blog), Esther O'Connor, does an AMAZING rendition of it. One of the best that I've heard, so far! (shoot! Where have I been, all this time?! http://www.estheroconnorfreetrack.co.uk/ lol! She's got an AWESOME voice!)
